President’s Report of Actions, Events and Participation
Spring 2024
I was sworn in as UDW Statewide President on February 1, 2024, and since then have continued my legislative work by participating in candidate interviews, attending the swearing-in of the new Senate Pro-Tem Mike McGuire in Sacramento. I also attended UDW’s Legislative Reception held at our Sacramento office, where we unveiled our brand refresh to elected legislators in attendance. I have also been working on appointing the many committees necessary for us to conduct business at our upcoming UDW Convention, and overlooked UDW fiscal responsibility by reviewing and signing pertinent checks and payments. I attended the Board of Supervisors meeting and rally in Bakersfield on February 27 to help our members there fight for a long-overdue and fair contract. And, finally, I continue to attend meetings with our many community partners statewide.
