UDW Members are Voting YES on Proposition 3 to Protect IHSS and Child Care Funding!

Home care providers and family child care providers know how important stable funding is for the services our communities depend on.

Prop 3 will keep an existing tax on California’s highest-income earners (people making over $360,000 annually) in place. It is not a new tax on working families. Instead, it protects funding for education, health care, and important programs like IHSS and child care.

Why Prop 3 Matters to Care Workers

California is already facing budget challenges after federal funding cuts under H.R. 1. If the current tax on the state’s highest-income earners expires, California will lose $5 – 15 billion each year that helps fund essential services.

For home care providers, child care providers, and the families we serve, those losses could mean deeper cuts to programs that help older adults, people with disabilities, children, and working families.

How Proposition 3 Helps Care Workers, Families, and Communities

  • Protects billions of dollars that California uses each year to fund services families rely on
  • Without this funding, the state is at high risk of making deeper budget cuts that put programs like IHSS and child care.
  • Stable funding helps ensure that seniors, people with disabilities, children, and working families can continue getting the support, care, and early childhood education they deserve.
  • Strong in-home care, early childhood education, schools, and health care systems help build stronger communities for everyone.

When you vote, remember that Proposition 3 does not raise taxes on working families. It simply continues an existing tax on the state’s highest-income earners to protect funding for the services our communities rely on.

Vote YES on Proposition 3 to keep investing in early childhood care and education, in-home care, and other essential services.
