More than 48,000 In-Home Supportive Service (IHSS) providers are currently in negotiations with the Orange County Board of Supervisors for better wages and benefits!

Home care providers improve and extend the lives of more the 55,000 recipients across the county, all of whom are seniors or people living with disabilities who deserve the freedom to choose dignified care in the comfort of their own home.

Our work extends outside of personal hygiene and support around the home, with many of us providing paramedical care, such as dispensing and administering medication, recording blood pressure and sugar levels, wound care, and so much more.

Unfortunately, low wages and lack of benefits make it extremely difficult for care workers to make ends meet for them and their families and even harder to attract new workers to help fulfill the need across the county.

IHSS providers deserve dignified wages and access to vital health care benefits in order to continue providing these vital services to our community’s seniors and people living with disabilities.

Sign this petition and stand with us in demanding that our Orange County Board of Supervisors prioritize an investment in care workers that includes wage increases, increased access to health insurance, and additional funding for PPE, training, and transportation.
