Vote for A Stronger Voice at the Federal Level

California is holding a special election on November 4, 2025, to vote on Proposition 50, which would allow the state to use new congressional maps.

Unlike regular elections, a special election happens outside the usual cycle — it’s called to fill a specific issue on the ballot or to address urgent matters.

Prop 50 would mean we can adopt new congressional district maps drawn by the state Legislature — maps that would be used for the 2026, 2028, and 2030 U.S. House elections.

These new maps would adjust how many seats each region holds, based on population, giving us a stronger voice in Congress and empower us to protect the programs our communities depend on.

We Need Your Help

Why Prop 50 Matters to Us

In June, some members of Congress voted to cut essential services that support working families, including Medicaid and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

  • Medicaid funds more than half of IHSS, the program that pays home care providers.
  • SNAP puts food on the table for the children we care for.

When Congress cuts these programs, everyone suffers. And this is just the beginning—the cuts won’t stop unless we act.

By approving new congressional maps, Prop 50 gives us the power to elect champions for working families—leaders who will vote to protect care and ensure providers and our families aren’t left behind.
