Dear union family,
Spring was action-filled as we took on important fights that will impact the future of care work across California. From turning out at the primary election to standing up against proposed state budget cuts to home care and family child care, we made our voices heard.
I want to thank every member who stepped up this spring. Whether you knocked on doors, made phone calls, sent messages to state legislators, or spoke with your fellow providers about what was at stake, your activism made a difference. It was those calls, conversations, and acts of solidarity as a key member of our union that helped protect home care and family child care programs and showed decision-makers our strength.
While not every election result went the way we hoped, our work was never about a single race or candidate. Every conversation, every door knocked, and every vote cast helped build the power we need to shape the future of care work in California.
Now, we’re ready to take the next step as we look forward to November. Elections are not just political events. They have a direct impact on our daily lives, our jobs, our families, and the communities we serve. We’ve said it before, and we’ll continue to say it: staying active in our elections is essential because those decisions determine our futures.
Let’s take a moment to recharge and get ready to head back to the polls this November. Together, we’ll continue fighting for those we care for, for care workers, and for our communities.
